LOWPOINT, Ill.—Camp Manitoumi hosted a two-day men’s retreat Aug. 15 and 16. The 83 men in attendance began the retreat with a golf outing, followed by free time to enjoy the camp’s amenities, including swimming, riding down the new Manizoomie tube slide, hiking, and miniature golf. That night they were treated to a barbequed, smoked pork supper.
Additional activities the men enjoyed throughout their time at the camp were shooting pistols and rifles on the range, playing paintball, and entering a trap shoot.
John Greening, GARBC national representative, preached challenging messages in three services, and a great blend of men’s voices filled the chapel with music as Bernie Augsburger, state representative of the Illinois-Missouri Association of Regular Baptist Churches, led worship.
Pastor Greg White of Maranatha Baptist Church, Pana, Ill., says, “Excitement builds each year as men anticipate renewed fellowship and friendships with their brothers in Christ from around the Illinois-Missouri Fellowship. As usual, [Executive Director] John and Judy Kealen and their camp staff went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful and Christ-honoring time at Camp Manitoumi.”
