Family Event Celebrates End of School Year

DES MOINES, Iowa—Celebrating the end of the school year, Fellowship Baptist Church partnered with an elementary school half a block away to host an event for families.

“We were really looking forward to the event, but we hit a snag in the planning phase,” says Pastor Dan Vance.

“The administration was worried about the legal implications of our evangelism tent, in which we were planning to present the wordless book with families while they waited to use an inflatable obstacle course.

“Thankfully, the Lord allowed us to strike a compromise: the evangelism/inflatable would be on the church lawn, with everything else in the schoolyard. Although we were nervous about the split location, God answered our many prayers, and 125 people sat down at the evangelism tent.

“In the end, we made many new contacts in the community and gained immense goodwill from the school while working alongside their staff. We praise God for blessing this outreach!”
