VALPARAISO, Ind.—The 36th annual Baptist Children’s Home Bike-a-thon was a huge success, reports assistant treasurer Craig Freyenberger.
Bike-a-thon events were held at five churches, including Inland Manor Baptist Church, Hobart, Ind.; Trinity Church, Alma, Mich.; and Berean Baptist Church, Davenport, Iowa. Over 270 people participated in the five events by riding 20 miles on a bike, walking two miles, or volunteering to make the event go smoothly. At the Alma and Hobart events, merit prizes were given to those who gathered a certain level of sponsorships, and a bike was given to the participant who gathered the most sponsorships. Funds raised through the Bike-a-Thon help with expenses of this special ministry that provides Christian homes for children in need around the world.
Baptist Children’s Home thanks the Lord that everyone was safe and the weather allowed for each event to run as planned.
