Dover_inlineDOVER, Del.—Students in the Dover area enjoyed Vacation Bible School at Maranatha Baptist Church. The staff used the program “Cowabunga Farm: Growin’ with Our Faithful God,” published by Regular Baptist Press.

Hosting VBS “opened up quite a few doors of opportunity for kids to come to the Kids Club that Maranatha conducts during the school year,” says Pastor Lance Wager. “The farm theme was a lot of fun, and the kids enjoyed the games, snacks, crafts, and Bible stories.”

Maranatha held its VBS from a Sunday through Thursday in June, 6:00–8:00 p.m. The program concluded with a two-hour soccer clinic the following Saturday, led by Kyle Keltner, head soccer coach at Clarks Summit University, and Maranatha’s own Ron Probst. Elementary school students attended in the morning, and high school students attended in the afternoon, but lunch was provided for both groups.

“The soccer clinic was a new idea for Maranatha to reach the community utilizing the property He has given us,” Wager says. “It was a beautiful summer day on our back property to bring kids together to instruct them in the basics of soccer and also to share the gospel.”
