FARMINGTON, Iowa—Adults of First Baptist Church celebrated Valentine’s Day together with dinner catered by a local restaurant. Once the food was delivered, teens from the church served the guests in the fellowship hall. “The dinner gave the teens an opportunity to serve and the adults an opportunity to fellowship without the kids,” says Pastor Chad Welch. “This is our only event all year that is just for adults, and it provides opportunities that other events do not.”
Every portion of the evening reflected the theme “Love Letters.” The fellowship hall was decorated with mailboxes and envelopes. Guests were entertained by writing Mad Libs love letters and playing charades. And Welch challenged each guest to write a love letter.
