Trunk or Treat Brings Together Church and Community

By November 8, 2014No Comments

Naperville_inlineNAPERVILLE, Ill.—Book Road Baptist Church hosted its first Trunk or Treat on Saturday, Oct. 25. A young couple in the church, Colin and Deidre Anderson, suggested this event after participating in one while attending college. Book Road Baptist, currently without a pastor, was looking for ways to let the community know the church was there for them and also for a project that could bring members together. Trunk or Treat provided both.

Colin and Deidre planned, organized, and drove the program, which featured six decorated vehicles with treats, games, or both. About 20 children from the neighborhood played ball toss, magnetic fishing, and a Bible quiz while their parents enjoyed cider, cocoa, and popcorn served by a dozen members of Book Road Baptist’s extended family.
