WINFIELD, Ill.—Three Chicagoland churches joined together for a special Good Friday service. It was a somber time of contemplative worship as the congregations looked at the incredible sacrifice of Christ’s death on the cross.

Book Road Baptist Church of Naperville, Great Commission Baptist Church of Schaumburg, and Faith Baptist of Winfield each took part in the service. Faith Baptist led in a time of singing and prayer. Brad Blissett, pastor of Book Road, looked at the Garden and the betrayal that took place. Scott Greening, pastor of Great Commission, looked at the envy that nailed Christ to the cross. John Greening, national representative of the GARBC, looked at how the Cross erased the judgment of sin from our lives.

The service concluded with Communion, an art and music media presentation centered on the crucifixion, and an anticipation of resurrection Sunday.
