Symposium Addresses ‘Real Relationships’

By April 21, 2015No Comments

MountPleasantMI_inlineMOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—First Baptist Church hosted a symposium on Real Relationships, a topic First Baptist says is often thought about by parents but rarely talked about with their teens.

On the evening of April 10, parents, teens, and single adults enjoyed pizza together, then listened to three dads share their insight and stories about navigating the waters of relationships that ultimately led to marriage for their children.

Rich Griffith, pastor of Parma (Michigan) Baptist Church, shared on the topic of “Daddy to Daughters.” Dan Currie, pastor of Hastings (Michigan) Baptist Church, spoke on “Father to Sons.” And, after a break for refreshments, Ken Pierpont, pastor of Evangel Baptist Church, Taylor, Michigan, and the brother of First Baptist’s pastor, Kevin Pierpont, spoke on “Parents’ Responsibility.”

Book drawings and a question-and-answer time closed out the evening. Those who attended were blessed and encouraged by the helpful and humorous insights that were shared.
