Strong Church Conference Encourages Spiritual Maturity

GRETNA, Neb.—“Know what God has called you to do and get it done,” GARBC National Representative John Greening challenged attendees of the Strong Church Conference. Gretna Baptist Church hosted the conference, an event of the Nebraska Association of Regular Baptist Churches, April 7–8.

“Building a church usually describes brick and mortar or the numeric attendance, but in this conference, and in Greening’s book Strong Church, building a church means leading believers toward spiritual maturity,” says Shawn Rittmiller, pastor of Park Lane Baptist Church in Omaha.

In his four sessions, Greening encouraged the 60 attendees to be stronger church builders in the roles God has called them, whether they serve as pastors, teachers, ushers, nursery workers, or faithful church members.

In addition to hearing excellent exhortations, conference-goers also enjoyed listening to a concert by the orchestra and handbell choir from Faith Baptist Bible College.

Seeking to build the spiritual vitality and maturity of its churches, the NARBC will follow up this conference with a Stronger Church Conference Oct. 6–7 at First Baptist Church in Nebraska City.
