Prophecy Conference Encourages Church Family

Pastor Jim Stultz (left) welcomes David Gunn to Peace River Baptist, Punta Gorda, Fla.

PUNTA GORDA, Fla.—David Gunn, director of Regular Baptist Press, spoke during a prophecy conference at Peace River Baptist Church.

Speaking in three sessions March 27 on “God’s Prophetic Calendar,” David covered God’s prophetic calendar for Israel, the nations, and the church.

The conference “was a great encouragement to God’s people,” says Pastor Jim Stultz. Many people—particularly in the final session, on the pretribulational rapture of the church, a session David titled “Invasion of the Body Snatcher”—”were strengthened in their faith.”

During the Rapture, the Lord Jesus Christ “will return to snatch away His people before the onset of the seven-year Tribulation,” David writes in his Baptist Bulletin article “Invasion of the Body Snatcher.” Christ’s return “is our blessed hope,” the “moment all Christians spend their lives longing for.” At Christ’s return, believers will finally meet and forever be with Him.

“Can you conceive of any greater comfort?” David writes. “In the midst of all life’s ups and downs, despite all the aches and pains and disappointments that must surely come in a fallen world, there will always be this blessed hope and certain promise: Christ Jesus is coming again! And when He comes, He will receive us to Himself to be with Him forever. May the Lord hasten the arrival of that day.”
