Pillowcases Will Spread Smiles in India

PuntaGorda_inlinePUNTA GORDA, Fla.—Orphans in India have cheerful-looking, personalized pillowcases, thanks to the generosity and thoughtfulness of ladies at Peace River Baptist Church.

During the month of September, the women involved in the church’s ministry called LAMP (Ladies with a Mission Passion) made pillowcases for 50 girls in two group homes in India operated by Baptist Children’s Home. Each girl’s pillowcase was personalized with her name.

At their October meeting, the LAMP ladies laid hands on their finished pillowcases and prayed for the children receiving them.

Baptist Children’s Home, which began in 1955, operates group homes in Indiana and Michigan with the conviction that “the family is God’s plan for creating, molding, and shaping lives into responsible, spiritually-maturing adults.” The organization began ministering to children in India in 1995. Houseparents in 21 homes throughout India now care for a total of 478 children.

LAMP started in 2013 with a goal of supporting Peace River Baptist’s missionaries and encouraging new and younger members to catch the missionary vision. The ladies of LAMP are pleased to be a blessing to BCH. They say, “We praise God for the opportunity to do missions in this small way.”
