SPRINGFIELD, Ill.—As a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Illinois Executive Board, Pastor Dave Fox was asked to pray for St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Matheny at the team’s spring banquet. Fox is pastor of Berean Baptist Church. Coach Matheny, he says, “is an outspoken follower of Christ and bold in his testimony for the Lord.” Twelve hundred athletes, coaches, and community members participated in the banquet at the University of Illinois in Springfield on Monday night, Feb. 1.
