MOTLEY, Minn.—Men from the northern area of the Minnesota Association of Regular Baptist Churches gathered for a retreat at Camp Shamineau Feb. 25–26.
The men, ages 13 and up, spent time together worshiping God through heartfelt singing, participating in active competitions, building friendships, and being challenged from the Word.
A guest speaker challenged the men to “Get Uncomfortable for Christ.” Hearing the inspiring example of David’s mighty warriors (2 Samuel 23), the men learned “that faithful gospel ministry and Christian living will require us to take some risks and suffer for the cause of Christ (Philippians 1),” says Thomas Overmiller, pastor of Brookdale Baptist Church, Moorhead, Minnesota.
The speaker also shared stories of Christian men taking such actions around the world, even in regions where sharing the gospel, professing faith in Christ, and living for Him are difficult.
With that teaching in their minds and hearts, the men took time to pray for believers in Ukraine.
