Northeast Fellowship Hosts Marriage Refresh Retreat

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y.—“Get a Grip” on your marriage was the theme of the Marriage Refresh retreat hosted by the Northeast Fellowship. Twenty-five married couples attended the retreat at Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen Dec. 27–29.

The retreat aimed to help couples get a grip in marriage by taking their marriage responsibilities seriously (through a “Tighten Up” session) yet not taking their personal preferences and rights too seriously (through a “Lighten Up” session).

Doug Forman, pastor of Breesport (New York) Baptist Church, and Brian King, director of the Northeast Fellowship, led the sessions, which included inspiring interviews with three couples regarding their own marriages: Larry and Sue Semans, Josh and Amy Rathmell, and Mike and Sue Paris.

The fellowship with one another and the addition of two local scavenger hunts “made this a fantastic way to close out the year,” Brian says.
