National Association of Regular Baptist Camps Meets for Retreat

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.—Camp directors focused outward in their planning as they met for the annual retreat of the National Association of Regular Baptist Camps. The Regular Baptist Ministries Resource Center welcomed the directors and their wives March 15–16.

A major focus of discussion was answering the question, how can the NARBC camps better assist pastors and churches? Jon Beight, director of Twin Lakes Camp and organizer of the retreat, and John Greening, GARBC national representative, led the group in discussing and planning avenues of assistance to churches. In addition, camp personnel and GARBC staff members planned endeavors to promote the ministry of camping.

Couples participating in the retreat included Jon and Donna Beight of Twin Lakes Camp, Dan and Martha Kohns of The Springs Ministries, Greg and Stephanie Frank of Bethany Camp, Dave and Kristi Sellers of Camp Patmos, Jim and Rachel Lockwood of Lincoln Lake Baptist Camp, Phil and Barb Betz of Iowa Regular Baptist Camp, and Scott and Pam Bruns of Scioto Hlls Christian Camp.

An important part of coming together is the fellowship that occurs among camp directors and their wives. At each retreat, the group works together for the benefit of the whole. Side conversations occur frequently and laughter abounds. Prayer for one another and for the camps conveys their camaraderie and their dependence on God for His help and blessing.
