BoiseID_inlineBOISE, Idaho—A group of 24 high school students and adults from Whitney Baptist Church traveled to Grandview, Wash., to serve at First Baptist Church/Iglesia Del Pueblo. The group’s main task was to lead a five-day children’s club in a park. Each day 65–90 kids attended, and “at least once,” says Peter Hudson, youth leader at Whitney Baptist, “probably more than 125 in total showed up.”

The club ended on a Friday evening with a barbeque in the park for the kids and their parents in order for the team to share with parents what their kids had learned and to connect them with Tony and Grace Sanchez, pastor and wife at First Baptist.

In addition to the children’s club, the missions team also painted the church’s exterior and held youth group in the evenings at the park for older kids. Hudson says the older kids “were excited to learn more and to be able to go to the Sanchezes’ youth group every Friday evening.”
