MASON CITY, Iowa—Six teens and two adults from Faith Baptist Church spent a week helping a church plant in Salt Lake City establish a presence in its community.

The group from Faith Baptist worked with youth groups from four other churches to distribute literature about the church in neighborhoods, run a backyard Bible club, and complete service projects. Each day, the church plant’s staff led the teens in times of teaching from God’s Word.

Greg Gosnell, associate pastor of youth and children’s ministries at Faith Baptist, says the trip was valuable because “it introduced our teens to the world of church planting and sharing the gospel in different contexts.” Seeing how well the church plant knew its community, the teens felt challenged to learn about their own community at home.
