LAUREL, Md.—Grace Baptist Church celebrated its 50th anniversary, praising God for His faithfulness in and through the church. “I am thankful for our church’s rich history in the ministry of the Word,” says Pastor Luke Scallon. “To God be the glory!”

The celebration kicked off Saturday, April 28, with children’s carnival games and a moon bounce that drew neighborhood children to join the fun. Following a grilled lunch, current and past church members sang in worship and shared testimonies. Special guests for the day were Craig Moe, mayor of Laurel, and previous pastors Mike Hammons and Jim Eaton. Moe thanked the church for its community involvement and desire to make a difference.

The next day, the worship service continued the celebration, with Scallon preaching on the anniversary’s theme, “Be Strong in Grace,” from 2 Timothy 2:1–7.
