With the new year comes a new season of ministry for the Michigan Association of Regular Baptist Churches.
Ken Floyd retired as executive ministry director Dec. 31. He had served in that role since 2006. The MARBC honored Ken and his wife, Sharon (pictured above), for their leadership in the association at the Tristate Conference, a combined conference of the MARBC, Crossroads Fellowship, and the Ohio Association of Regular Baptist Churches. Emmanuel Baptist Church, Toledo, Ohio, hosted the conference Oct. 17–19.
Serving the MARBC “has been a joy,” Ken says.
Doug Crawford is now executive ministry director. He began that role Jan. 1. He was previously director of strategic advancement for the MARBC and has been pastor of West Cannon Baptist Church, Belmont, Michigan, for more than 40 years.
Working with Doug in the MARBC will be a Leadership Oversight Team, consisting of pastors who will oversee church leadership development, church growth, church fellowship, and communications.
Ken is excited that the association will be led by a team. That leadership structure “is a long-term answer to prayer on my part,” he says.
The leadership transition also comes with a new name for the MARBC. The MARBC is now called Bridge Fellowship. That new name, the association says, reflects its goal of “connecting churches with one another and with their communities through the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
