Ladies’ Tea Offers Spiritual Refreshment

ToledoOH1_inlineTOLEDO, Ohio—Women of Emmanuel Baptist Church enjoyed a Ladies’ Tea on Saturday, Feb. 7. “This annual event has become a time for us to bring in friends, neighbors, and coworkers who need to hear the gospel,” says Julie Carey, ladies’ ministries coordinator.

The ladies had the privilege of hearing from Becki Lounsbrough. Emmanuel Baptist supported Becki and her husband, Mark, as they were missionaries in Brazil for nearly 20 years; they often returned to Toledo on furlough. (Mark is now professor of missions and Bible at Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary.) Sharing family pictures and journal entries, Becki told of how God sustained several generations of her family through all of life’s circumstances.

Many guests were present for the event, including an honored member, Eva, who is 105 years old. The ladies of the church volunteered as hostesses for the 20 tables, providing all the table settings and decorations. Carey says, “It was a morning of spiritual refreshment and warm fellowship!”
