Garden Party Honors Fallen Veterans

MIDLAND, Mich.—Calvary Baptist Church recognized Memorial Day last Saturday, May 20, by holding a Garden Party.

In preparation of the event, 32 people helped beautify the church grounds. Member Harold Filipiak had made 100 crosses and a sign reading, “Thank You, Vets. God Bless You.” He asked the church if he could put those up as a memorial to fallen veterans, and the church was pleased to do so. The church served lunch for all who came to the Garden Party from 10 a.m. to noon.

“As we approach Memorial Day,” the church says, “we want to say thank you to all who have served our great nation and all who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.”
