ANKENY, Iowa—Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary hosted its first Business Leadership Summit on Thursday, Sept. 18. This event was designed to encourage business leaders within the church and to give practical advice for maintaining Christian principles and ethics in the secular workplace.
Summit attendees enjoyed sessions from experienced businessmen. Speakers included Michael Blackstone and Roland Thompson, operators of Thompson & Blackstone, Inc.; Ed Cone, previous co-owner and CEO of Graco Children’s Products; and Colin Eicher, retired owner of several businesses in Canada. “It’s encouraging to hear Christian business leaders truly put God first in their lives,” one attendee commented. “I’m encouraged to live my spiritual life in business and not separate the two.”
The summit offered four sessions throughout the day, covering topics from balancing church and business to co-laboring with your pastor. The day ended with a dinner banquet and Q&A, which allowed guests opportunities to get answers for their specific questions. Attendees left encouraged as they continue to pursue Christ in their business endeavors.
