Conference Challenges Churches to Plan for the Future

PANA, Ill.—”Church Forward: Embrace the Possibilities of the 21st Century” was the theme of the Illinois/Missouri Association of Regular Baptist Churches Spring Conference. First Baptist Church hosted the conference April 1–2.

Clare Jewell, national church planting coordinator for Regular Baptist Churches and director of Regular Baptist Builders Club, “challenged us to revitalize our churches by establishing reproduction and multiplication as the X factor of evangelism,” says Bernie Augsburger, state representative of the Illinois/Missouri association. “We were urged to rethink our priorities and if necessary deprogram or rearrange existing programs toward making disciples rather than just adding new members. We were urged to challenge all believers to make connections with unbelievers with a redemptive goal in mind.”
