ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.—The children of First Baptist Church performed “A Peanut Butter Christmas” by Ron Hamilton and Gary Emory Dec. 14. The musical tells the story of the Carpenter family, who is stranded in a motel without electricity or presents on Christmas Day. Though frustrated and discouraged at first, the Carpenter children learn the valuable lesson of putting Jesus first during Christmastime, not expensive presents and an extravagant meal. Following the musical, youth leader Ben Burnet gave a Christmas devotional. The church hosted a cookie fellowship after the service.
