URBANDALE, Iowa—Urbandale Baptist Church just completed a week of Vacation Bible School using Camp Moose on the Loose, published by Regular Baptist Press. The program was “a hit among the ‘campers’ and staff,” says Pastor Nathan Gast.

“Jam-packed with exciting Bible lessons, games, songs, crafts, snacks, and contests, the program was one of the smoothest that the church has ever run before,” he says.

To help make VBS even more fun, the church plans a different theme for each evening, such as crazy sock night, wacky hair night, neon night, and dress like a camper night. But “one of the most exciting things about this year’s VBS,” Gast says, “was the great number of new volunteers that we had serving in a variety of positions.”

The church desires to run VBS as an evangelistic tool each year, with the focus on students bringing their friends to the program each evening to hear the gospel. In honor of the students who brought the most friends each night, Gast took seven pies in the face for the team this year. The church plans to follow up with all of the students who attended and invite them back to the church this fall for other events.

“Overall,” Gast says, “the week was a success, and seeds of the gospel were planted in the hearts and lives of all the students that attended that week. Please pray with the church that God would bring those small seeds to eventual fruition!”
