CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa—Blair Ridge Baptist Church celebrated its 50th anniversary. “The day was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what God has accomplished in and through the ministry at BRBC,” says Pastor Troy Weigert.
In a morning worship service Sept. 26, the congregation heard from nearly every former pastor via video or personal testimony. Tim Capon, state representative of the Iowa Association of Regular Baptist Churches, shared a message from Acts 2 on the importance of evangelism. Pastor Gary Novak of Monticello (Iowa) Baptist Church shared a personal message and testimony of how God used the ministry of Blair Ridge Baptist Church in his life. And Pastor Weigert shared a message from Philippians 3 on the blessings and pitfalls of history.
“We are rejoicing together as a church body at the many blessings God has lavished on us these 50 years,” Weigert says. “We are praying together that God will be pleased to continue to use us to spread the word of His glorious gospel in Cedar Rapids.”
