NEWARK VALLEY, N.Y.—The Northeast Fellowship has called Ben Baker to serve as its youth seminar coordinator.
Each year over one thousand students in grades six through 12 attend the fellowship’s youth seminars, held in four locations at the same time and day. Through the seminars, the students are encouraged to grow in Christ through relevant worship, great fellowship, and Biblical teaching. Baker “is a young, capable, creative, and godly servant—all of which will help him excel at this job,” says Jim Vogel, state representative of the Northeast Fellowship.
Baker says he “has a passion for seeing people of all ages growing in their relationship with Christ.” He has been pastor of First Baptist Church in Newark Valley, the church he grew up attending, since October 2015. Previously he was First Baptist’s youth director for eight years but is still in charge of the church’s Grow Clubs outreach to children.
A graduate of Word of Life Bible Institute and Davis College, Baker is currently studying to earn a master of ministry from Baptist Bible Seminary.
