Summit_inlineCLARKS SUMMIT, Pa.—The board of trustees of Baptist Bible College and Seminary has voted to change the institution’s name to Summit University of Pennsylvania effective Monday, April 20.

The announcement was made on campus to faculty, staff, and students on Wednesday. A special daylong celebration is planned for the official launch date in April. New logos, colors, promotional material, other features, and more will be revealed at that time.

New name. Same mission.

Although the name will change, the institution’s mission and its dedication to providing students with a quality Biblical education will remain the same.

“Our mission will not change, but the tools we use to advance it are always changing. This name better reflects the degrees we offer and a variety of other options here,” says BBC&S President Dr. Jim Lytle.

BBC&S embraces its Baptist heritage, with Scripture as the center for learning, and a Biblical worldview as the grid through which students are taught to view all things.

Founded in 1932, BBC&S has served students with a commitment to Biblical authority, preparing them for lives of significant service for the cause of Jesus Christ.

“This name draws on both the location of the institution in the ‘Summit’ area of suburban Scranton, Pennsylvania, and the achievements reached by our more than 10,000 alumni, as well as current and future students,” says Lytle.
