Act of Service Shows Love to Community

WINFIELD, Ill.—Women of Faith Baptist Church enjoyed the opportunity to serve their community by making dinner and brunch at a local Ronald McDonald House.

The facility, which opened in 2015, houses families of children being treated at four Northwestern Medicine hospitals and medical centers.

In the weeks prior to the service opportunity, Pastor Mike Myers had been preaching a series of sermons on “Gospel Encounter Readiness.” He challenged the church to take the gospel to the community through practical connections. Serving at the Ronald McDonald House was a way the women’s group could demonstrate the gospel in action to the community, showing love and being a blessing to those going through a difficult time.
