A Resource: ALMOST (saved) by Ezekiel Azonwu

Here’s an interesting resource you might want to share with your teens and college students.

The danger with this stuff is that you can admire the eloquence and lose the message. But the last line has stuck with me all day: “But if it wasn’t for Christ, we would have almost got paid.”

  • Reminds me of Matthew Mead’s “An Almost Christian Discovered” (perhaps one of the best Puritan writings I’ve encountered). There is something of a “puritan spirit” upon this African American brother. I was very blessed by this–thanks for posting.

(p.s. I think we can learn something about the need for rhetorical/verbal skills. We would do well, as preachers, to put a greater emphasis on this area in our own preaching. There is certainly nothing wrong with lacking these gifts, and such a preacher need feel no guilt. But for many of us it is simply laziness that we do not put greater effort into the quality of our communication–I know such laziness is true of me).
