ELYRIA, Ohio—Amy Katherine Phillips, associate pastor’s wife, died on March 23, 2011. She was 67.
Faithful to her calling as a homemaker, Amy followed the course of her husband as the Lord took them from a life of secular work to pastoral ministry. She made homes for her family in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Texas, and ministered with her husband, Ronald, at Delhi Baptist Church, Jerseyville, Ill., for 14 years. Her final ministry with her husband was at First Baptist Church, Elyria, Ohio, where Amy had invested her heart and time for the past three years; Ronald is associate pastor.
A woman of Biblical quality, Amy’s energy was focused primarily on serving her Lord at home and then at church. However, when time permitted, her love of music was given to others through piano lessons, choir involvement, and other musical endeavors she enjoyed. Amy received her BA in education and music from Indiana University and had accumulated 30 hours toward her masters in music.
Amy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ronald; a son, Derek; a daughter, Joanna Fields; eight grandchildren; and her brother, Carl Lueking.
