AMES, Iowa—More than forty representatives from Iowa churches have met to examine Pastor Will Hatfield of Campus Baptist Church, Ames, Iowa. The ordination council asked questions about theological and practical ministry understanding, then voted to recommend ordination. The council commended the candidate on his Biblically-integrated thinking and gracious spirit, and thanked Campus Baptist Church for their support of the pastor.
On Sunday, February 24, Campus Baptist Church voted to ordain Pastor Will Hatfield and then held an ordination service. Charles Alber, recently retired as senior pastor at Campus Baptist, gave a charge to the church.
“How you treat your pastor is how you treat God,” noted Alber, “The pastor is here to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry.”
Pastor George Hatfield, father of Pastor Will, gave the charge to the candidate reminding him to love the people and to be out among them. Following the service there was an all church meal in the gym. All of the tables were filled for a wonderful time of fellowship and celebration.
