Vanderwarker to Genoa City

GENOA CITY, Wis.—Anchor Baptist Church has welcomed Ryan Vanderwarker as its new pastor. After serving for eight months as interim pastor, the church voted unanimously to call him as senior pastor, and he accepted.

During the interim period, Ryan was also a part-time teacher at Lake County Baptist School in Waukegan, Ill., teaching Bible classes and coaching basketball. After commuting 45 minutes to the church during the interim period, Ryan and his wife, Jamie, are now looking for housing closer to Genoa City.

Anchor Baptist was planted 18 years ago by Paul Rudy, who died in 2009 after a long bout with cancer.

“Pastor Paul had a servant’s heart and greatly loved his God,” Ryan says. “My prayer is that we continue his legacy to bring people closer to Christ.”
