The Gathering

BREESPORT, NEW YORK—For the purpose of “being fired up” for evangelism in their schools and elsewhere, 354 youth and their sponsors attended the Empire State Fellowship’s yearly rally, The Gathering, on Saturday, August 25, at Breesport Baptist Church. The four-hour rally included a pizza lunch, videos, giveaways, games, singing, and the dynamic preaching of Pat Nemmers, pastor of Saylorville Baptist Church, Des Moines, Iowa.

Pastor Nemmers also challenged those who had never received God’s love through the salvation gift of Jesus Christ to accept that gift and also place Jesus on the throne of life. At least two teens trusted Christ. One had been attending Sunday School and had been prayed for during the past year. She is a quiet girl, but she is now talking about how concerned she is for her unsaved family. Please pray for her and others who were challenged to live wholeheartedly for the Lord.
