BREESPORT, N.Y.—”The Gathering,”  an end-of-summer rally for teenagers of the Empire State Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches, was held on Aug. 22 (Saturday) at Breesport Baptist Church.

Ken Rudolph, newly appointed missionary with the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism and advancement director of Lake Ann Baptist Camp in Michigan, spoke twice during the four-hour get-together. About 200 hundred of the 403 teens responded to an invitation to “live dangerously” for Christ, like Esther of the Old Testament, as they return to school and to their youth groups. Ken, a gifted communicator and veteran youth speaker, did a super job in preaching the Word to the receptive teens.

The Gathering also included meaningful worship lead by Scott Snyder (host pastor), thought- provoking videos, giveways, and a cookout of hot dogs, chips, soda, and cookies. Thirty-five youth groups participated, with many coming as far away as three to four hours.

“Growing a Great Faith for a Great God,” the theme for the day, was seemingly accomplished as young people headed home after the day stronger in their faith and more determined to make a difference for Christ.
