Students Compete in 2009 Talents For Christ

ELYRIA, Ohio—High school students from across the country have competed in 12 categories during the annual Talents For Christ competition, part of the 2009 GARBC Conference held at First Baptist Church, Elyria, Ohio.

The students qualified for the annual event by placing first or second in state competitions. Judges chose several of the participants to minister during the Thursday evening and Friday morning sessions:

  • Kaylee Good (Clear Lake Regular Baptist, Clear Lake, Iowa)—female voice (open competition)
  • Aaron Hixson (Calvary Baptist, Sandusky, Ohio)—male voice
  • Erich Sandersfeld (Harvest Baptist, Williamsburg, Iowa)—oral interpretation of Scripture
  • Virginia Liebert (Ankeny Baptist, Ankeny, Iowa)—piano
  • Ben Hicks (First Baptist, Cincinnatus, N.Y.)—preaching (open competition)
  • Hanna Javaux (Silvis Heights Baptist, Silvis, Ill.)—strings

The results of the individual competitions will be announced Friday morning.
