Sharing Christ’s Compassion at Pregnancy Care Centers

By January 4, 2008June 6th, 2014No Comments

Pregnancy Care Centers have a unique role in outreach to the community. Besides providing counseling and help to unwed mothers, they also present the gospel to a segment of society that usually has little exposure to church. Although it shocked the Jewish leadership, Jesus purposefully and personally shared the hope of salvation with sinful women in His time on earth. Unfortunately, many believers have a list of excuses why they have never devoted any of their time to a local Pregnancy Care Center. Listed below are some practical suggestions on how you can get involved in this important ministry.

Find a Good Pregnancy Care Center

  1. Call Baptists for Life at 1-800-968-6086 or visit bfl.org to find a partnering Pregnancy Care Center near you.
  2. Look in your phone book or visit optionline.org to view all the Centers in your area. Call each PCC and ask about its mission statement and doctrinal position. Find a center that shares the gospel, as well as counsels women.

Fight Abortion without Leaving Home

  • Become a prayer partner for your local PCC.

  • Make a personal contribution and encourage your church to provide monthly support to a local, doctrinally sound PCC or Baptists for Life.
  • Write or e-mail your local and state officials about pro-abortion bills.
  • Write pro-life letters to the editor of your local newspaper.
  • Instead of receiving personal gifts on your next birthday or at Christmas, ask your family and friends to give a gift to the local PCC in your honor.
  • Knit or crochet baby blankets to give to a local PCC.
