ENDICOTT, N.Y.—More than 1,400 teens from 106 churches attended identical seminars conducted simultaneously in four locations (Marilla, Horseheads, Norwich, and Poughkeepsie) across the state on the weekend of March 18 and 19. Each featured a main speaker, and nine youth pastors or laypeople taught workshops. Pat Odel, Sean MacPherson, Jason Jackson, and Mel Walker developed messages from the seminars’ verses, 2 Timothy 1:8 and 9: “Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling.”
The workshops during the two-day conference answered questions about being saved: “Really?” “So What?” “Now What?” “Who Cares?” “Why Not?“ “What If?” and the popular split, one for gals and guys, “Who Am I?”
Teens enjoyed ample time for getting acquainted and being in the Word. Many teens made life-changing decisions, including several being saved. The four seminars contributed nearly $3,000 for outreach ministry for three New York City mission churches to help get people saved in the Big Apple.
These yearly seminars have a 45-year history. Many of the leaders who now bring teens were once students who attended when they were younger. Each year God does His work in the lives of teenagers, some to get saved, and those who come saved to get going spiritually.
