CHICAGO—In an effort to help the children’s ministries of another Chicago-based ministry, Regular Baptist Press has donated more than 80 Vacation Bible School Dino Detectives Super Kits to the Pacific Garden Mission.
David McCarrell, president of Pacific Garden Mission, sent a truck to Regular Baptist Press in Schaumburg, Ill., to pick up the kits. Michael Nolan, RBP director of operations, met McCarrell when preaching a Sunday evening service at the mission.
Worth $159 each, the 80 kits contain student books for five age groups, crafts, music, songbooks, gifts, awards, posters, gospel tracts, a resource CD, and evangelism tools for running a Vacation Bible School program. The kits will be used in Bible classes held for children of homeless people living at the mission.
The Pacific Garden Mission, which moved to a new location on S. Canal Street in 2007, is the oldest continuously operating rescue mission in the country. It has been meeting the physical, spiritual, educational, and employment needs of homeless men, women, and children in Chicago for more than 125 years.
