OARBC5_inlineWELLINGTON, Ohio—The Ohio Association of Regular Baptist Churches, representing 150 churches, held its annual meeting Oct. 20–22 at Camden Baptist Church. Dr. Thomas White, president of Cedarville University, was keynote speaker, addressing the theme “Stand Firm in the Faith.” He spoke four times during the conference using Hebrews 11 as his main text to preach about Moses, Deborah and Barak, Gideon, and Daniel.

“Dr. White’s straightforward, candid style in proclaiming the Word of God seemed appreciated by all in attendance,” says Larry Nocella, pastor of Camden Baptist Church.

“As usual,” Nocella says, “the conference provided a great time of fellowship and encouragement for members of our association churches.” Everyone attended general sessions and workshops, with one of the workshop speakers being John Murdoch, director of Regular Baptist Chaplaincy Ministries. In addition, ladies enjoyed two gatherings of their own: a tea on Monday afternoon and a meeting of the Ohio Women for Missions on Tuesday afternoon.

During the conference Dr. David Warren announced he will be stepping down as OARBC state representative, effective at the 2016 annual conference. He wanted to give plenty of notice in order to provide enough time for the Council of 12 to find his replacement and to allow an orderly and smooth transition of leadership. Dr. Warren, previously a full-time pastor and college professor, has been state representative for 16 years.
