Victory Ranch, Moreno Valley, California, held its first ever Mini Camp for kids in kindergarten through third grade.
Mini Camp, a fun-packed single day of camp, was “the perfect opportunity for kids, along with a parent, to experience camp for the first time, including exciting activities, great food, and of course, chapel,” the camp says.
The idea to host Mini Camp originated in the fall of 2023, when a Christian school brought elementary age students to the camp for a day. “Each child brought a parent along,” the camp says.
“The children played games, listened to a message from the Bible, did a craft, and had lunch in our dining room. Many of the parents were excited after seeing Victory Ranch for the first time and asked about summer camp. In fact, the day went so well that Francine, our program director, asked about us offering a camp for the ‘minis.’ ”
During Mini Camp, Val Gauthier, whose husband, Jay, is pastor of First Baptist Church, El Monte, California, “spoke about how we are known by God and the importance of knowing God.”
