Family Fun at Victory Ranch

By April 13, 2023No Comments

Victory Ranch, Moreno Valley, California, held its Family Fun Day on Saturday, April 1. This is the fifth year for the event, which brings families to the camp to spend quality time together.

Back in 2018, Paul Cayot, the camp’s director, wanted to find a way to promote fellowship among families in Southern California Regular Baptist churches. The result was a day of games that entire families, from preschoolers to grandparents, could enjoy together: a giant Jenga game, a life-size Hungry Hungry Hippos game, potato sack relays, rubber chicken tennis, and more games spread throughout the camp’s property.

“The day is designed for families to work together and have fun with one another,” Victory Ranch says. “After lunch, egg hunts are held for the children. The rest of the afternoon is spent with more games, archery, horse rides, a petting zoo, and rides in a 1973 4×4 fire truck.”

In addition to spending quality time together, families see and experience camp, some for the first time.

“Many of the young people will return for the Ranch’s “Le’ Go and Let God” (Phil. 4:6–7) themed summer camps in July,” the camp says. “For a third grader about to attend camp for the first time, the thought of spending a week away from home is a little less intimidating when he or she is familiar with the grounds and recognizes some of the staff, and parents receive a taste of what their child will experience this summer.”

“Besides,” the camp adds, “any day that ends with ice cream sundaes is a good day.”
