Camp Gilead, Carnation, Washington, rolled out the red carpet for its 75th anniversary.

Nearly 500 current and past campers, staff members, and speakers, along with their families, came to the camp September 8–10 to enjoy anniversary events, including one of five showings of Dream Forrest. This video showcases God’s faithfulness throughout the ministry of Camp Gilead.

Camp Gilead, the documentary shows, began “with the dream of one man, Forrest Johnson, and the gift of one woman, Elma Faul. Her vision for her 27-acre property was to create a Bible camp for kids, which was exactly what Pastor Forrest Johnson of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Seattle had been praying for!” says Kimberly Mallory, Camp Gilead program director.

Guests enjoyed popcorn, candy, and other snacks while watching the premier of the video.

Another highlight was a Walk-Through Museum, which “told the story of Camp Gilead through pictures, trinkets, clothing, artifacts, documents, brochures, and other camp items from days gone by,” Kimberly says. “Attendees enjoyed finding themselves and friends in photos and remembering special moments from their summer camp days.”

The anniversary celebration “was such an amazing weekend of remembering, connecting, and praising the Lord for what He has done here at Gilead!” the camp says.
