PRINCETON, Ind.—A missions team from First Baptist Church traveled to Mena, Ark., (west of Little Rock) to aid the community following severe tornado damage this spring. Working with the Fellowship of Christian Farmers, International, many people from First Baptist came together to put God’s love and compassion into action: a group of middle and high school students; young adults; deacon Ross Key and his family; deacon chairman Cal Biddle and his wife, Bobbi; Diana Neidigh, a grandma; and Mark Massaro, the pastor of student ministries. The team helped farmers clear trees and debris, rebuild fences, stretch new fencing, and demolish parts of a house in preparation for rebuilding.
“With our own church building condemned last year from an earthquake, it’s great to see how our church family was moved to help others in need.” The youth group also took part in New Hope for Chicago (Vision For Youth) this summer. “God is lighting the fire for missions in our hearts,” said Pastor Mark.
