Ministry to Saipan

SAIPAN—Chris and Amy Brown have returned from a two week trip to Saipan, where they conducted video production training seminars. Prior to the trip, many who support Gospel Literature Services contributed funds to purchase the equipment that is making this effort possible.

bb-incopy-story4.jpgChurch leaders in Saipan had asked Chris Brown, a media missionary with Gospel Literature Services, to train a group of young men in video production. After Chris left Saipan, this team of believers began to produce training videos for pastors to be distributed on DVD and the internet.

Dr. Christian Wei explained that the videos would be distributed to churches that had no access to Bible training. “Our people in the house churches of restricted access nations can download and spread the gospel to as many people as possible,” said Dr. Wei. “With this kind of project, we can really reach out to so many people….Hopefully in the future we can report to you that many souls have been saved many saints have been edified, and God’s name has been spread throughout [our region]. Thank you so very much!”

Saipan is the capital of the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, a chain of 15 tropical islands north of Guam. English is the only common language in a diverse city of immigrants from China, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan, and Korea. After moving to Saipan, immigrants enjoy religious freedoms they do not always experience in their home countries.
