GALLIPOLIS, Ohio—On Sat., March 28, Pastor Alvis Pollard welcomed an ordination council to First Baptist Church to examine Pastor Matthew Townsend for ordination to the gospel ministry. For the last three years, Pastor Townsend has been associate and youth pastor at First Baptist. He is a graduate of Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary, Ankeny, Iowa.
Upon completion of the examination, the council moved unanimously to recommend that the church proceed with the ordination, which took place the following day.
