SCHAUMBURG, Ill.—Jim Vogel, associate national representative of the GARBC, recently held a webinar with ten pastors. Each participant logged in from their personal computers, talking to Jim and the others from various locations across the country.
“I took about forty minutes to share (with discussion throughout) on a leadership theme,” says Jim. “I called it Personalized Leadership, to help us personalize our leadership approach to the ones we serve (staff or volunteers).”
Jim was excited about the new possibilities of the webinar technology, where anyone with a phone or high-speed Internet can participate in a coast-to-coast conversation. For Jim, the technology allows him to meet with many pastors even though travel costs are prohibitive.
“We think that it will enable us to train, counsel, and equip our pastors in particular much more broadly and effectively than in the past,” says Jim. “We have plans to regularly schedule other webinars on practical topics of interest to them.”
