ROXANA, Ill.—A team of five from First Baptist Church traveled to Mexico City to spend a week (July 20–27) with missionaries Sam and Jamie Hornbrook, who serve with Baptist Mid-Missions. During the trip the team constructed a wall for the new facility that Nueva Vida Iglesia Bautista recently began using for its services. The constructed wall will provide extra classroom space for the children of the church.
The team also participated in the worship service on Sunday, with Pastor Mike Hess bringing the message to the congregation. Nueva Vida, by God’s grace, has experienced solid growth over the past year, and it was exciting for the team to see the enthusiasm and good spirit of the church body. This international missions trip was the first that First Baptist has ever been on.
