bb-inline-ny.jpgHORSEHEADS, N.Y.—First Baptist Church in Horseheads, N.Y., threw a party—a Family Fest block party attended by 275 visitors. Church organizers planned a one day gathering on their church parking lot that included blowup attractions, carnival games, contest, prizes, chicken barbeque, ice cream, and a free clothing pantry. Families earned tickets and then spent them on the smash-a-truck, blowups, and the prize room.

A missionary presented three children’s lessons and spoke on missions efforts around the world. Bob Toomer presented “Life Lessons from the Round Pen,” building a temporary horse corral in the parking lot and then using it to train an unbroken horse. Bob demonstrated simple principles of a horse submitting to a master in order to illustrate how a believer submits to the Lord.

“Wow! is the proper term to describe the effective work Bob did with that horse and our lives,” said Chris Brown, who is a member of the church and a missionary with Gospel Literature Services. “I want to thank our entire church family who just came together as a body and made this day happen. All the glory goes to God for all He did.”

“The body of Christ needs to reach out to the hurting and needy and even to the ones who don’t think they are needy,” Chris said.
