June 28–30 in perfect weather, twenty-one families took advantage of a newly offered retreat for homeschool families sponsored by Camp Manitoumi in Illinois, a member of the National Association of Regular Baptist Camps. And did everyone have a great time! I know—I, along with my family, participated. Beginning on Thursday afternoon and ending late Saturday afternoon, the weekend brought relaxation, fellowship, fun activities, delicious food, discussions about homeschooling, and challenging Bible messages by Pastor Larry Lindow of Littleton, Illinois, whose family homeschools.
Camp Director John Kealen met with the campers on the final day to determine interest in making homeschool retreats a regular event. Response was unanimously positive—so much so that there will likely be two each year, one in June and one in September. For more information, contact Camp Manitoumi at 309-367-4651.
